The company now operating as Magdrive Technology was founded by Michael Davy in 1978. Formerly Magnetic Automation Ltd, the company with three principal shareholders developed a number of unique product designs, the majority of which related to control of vehicular & pedestrian traffic.
In 1995, Michael Davy acquired all shares in the company creating a wholly New Zealand owned operation. Company objectives were reassessed and greater emphasis placed on the core business of gate automation systems and associated support services.
In 1994, the company achieved ISO 9002 status formalising the high standards and professionalism within the company.
The company now comprises a unique range of people all specialists in their areas and dedicated to providing prompt economic solutions to meet customer needs.
Emphasis is on providing clients with cost effective engineered solutions and ongoing product support using a range of proven products. Magdrive utilize equipment manufactured by leading international companies in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Singapore and Australia. Brands include Magnetic, Urbaco, Sommer, ATA, SEW.
